Portfolio > Tangling With My Zen

These pictures represent a new series I am currently working on.

My new schedule as a Live In Nanny, leaves me with a lot of time away from my actual studio. Going crazy from lack of creativity during my down time, I started doodling.

Lucky for me, I know a few things about etching copper, so it was a natural progression to see my drawings become enamels. Plus I wanted to explore the possibilities of my enamels while pushing the boundaries of my torch.

I love being able to inject narrative in my work, so this has been a joy to work on these.

I also love taking the repetitive, preciousness of the doodles and darkening them up with heat and glass. Now as I am drawing, I find myself planning white space where I know I can take over the designs with enamel techniques.

Still in the very beginning phases, this series will consist of Wall Pieces, Bookends, and Decorative Elements.
